Primed to Present: What Every Parent Must Know About Managing Food Allergies at School

Parents are their children’s best advocates. Those who know the facts about food allergies, their child’s rights, appropriate accommodations, and how to present this information to schools have the very best chance of creating a safe and inclusive environment for their children at school.

In this session, participants will be trained on the must-know facts for teachers and school administrators. 

Participants will discover easy ways to share this information so that teachers, aides and school officials understand the basics of food allergies, federal laws and regulations that govern food allergies at schools, and the important features of the CDC’s National Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies at school.

After this 90-minute training module, participants can choose to sign up for the FARE Education Network (optional), and will have access to the free presentation materials, Food Allergies: Keeping Students Safe and Included PowerPoint Presentation and Companion Guide.
