School nurses play a vital role in the management of food allergies.  It is very important to have a thorough understanding as to the early and prompt recognition of an allergic food reaction and the initiation of therapy. The nurses are key to providing a safe environment for the children, help reduce risk of exposures, and serve as an advocate for children with food allergies.
