Stock Epinephrine: What Can YOU Do?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Providing emergency epinephrine auto-injectors in school saves lives.  With the increasing number of students being diagnosed with severe food allergies and knowing that many of those individuals will have their first allergic reaction at school, it is imperative that schools are prepared to act.  Even though these children may have their own prescribed epinephrine auto-injector, there may be times it is not with them, so having emergency epinephrine in the health office provides an additional layer of safety for these students.

Additionally, we know that many, many individuals may have a undiagnosed food allergy and may be at risk for anaphylaxis. Their first ‘warning’ sign might be anaphylaxis.  Without emergency epinephrine, these individuals may die and 911 may not get there in time.  Getting a stock epinephrine program in your state is possible, even if you are just one person or one school nurse!

Come hear how a state-wide stock epinephrine program was implemented this past January in California and what you can do if you want to get one started in your state.
